Finally, just keep trying, you'll get there eventually.Out in the Mire sits an abandoned waste dump, concealing Sam Blackwell's bunker. If you have them available, pick parts for your plane that improve stability, speed and missile speed. General advice: Since special weapons don't matter in this mission, pick the fastest plane you have at the moment, this'll help in the second part of the mission. If you get directly below them, missiles can in fact catch them. Unlike the first half of the mission you wanna be going full throttle to keep up with the IRBMs. The IRBMs are fast but rather weak and guns alone can destroy them. Just use high g turns or flares to avoid any missiles coming for you. Second half: As for the second part of the mission, ignore the enemy fighters. The silos are random every time, so there's no pattern to learn, just destroy them all if necessary. It doesn't need to be perfect, if the shot is close enough, the missile will be exposed and you can simply destroy it with missiles or guns. Destroy the SAM and AA around each silo and fly slow as you line up your bomb shot. Thanks for that.įirst half: The wind is random from what I can tell, so just try to counter it. Sure would be nice to have HVAA or QAAM, but someone apparently decided that taking away player abilities for no reason is good game design.Įdit: With you guys' help, I managed to finish the mission on my first attempt after I got back into the game. And that's not even getting into how it feels like you have to be clairvoyant in order to handle multiple missiles at once on opposite sides of the map. Is there some way to predict it? Also, do I actually have time to get rid of any pursuing enemies, or should I just let them hound me and pop flares?Īs for the second part, how am I supposed to handle the IRBMs? They move too fast for missiles to catch them from the side, and flying straight up with high winds is punishing at best, not to mention more guys on my tail. It seems to me that the wind is either completely random, or else designed to intentionally throw your aim with the bomber off. I only managed to clear the first part of the mission once, by a fluke (I know it was a fluke because I only managed it once and haven't gotten close since). This time, it's the 13th mission, "Bunker Buster". This nugget needs a little more help with the campaign of Ace Combat 7.
